What is Bluegrass by the Bay?

An annual bluegrass festival located in downtown Panama City. This event is a celebration of great music and community together in a beautiful and historic outdoor setting. 

This year will feature three amazing bluegrass/folk artists including local musicians Black Creek String Band and Chris Woods and the Eight Fifty. The headliners are Grammy nominated progressive bluegrass artists Yonder Mountain String Band!  Here is the schedule:

How much are tickets?

Tickets are $40 per person, plus taxes and ticket fees. Everyone 13 years of age and up should purchase a ticket to attend. Children 12 years of age and younger are free! To purchase tickets click on this HERE.
 

When should I arrive?

Bluegrass by the Bay starts promptly at 12pm with the first supporting band. You should plan on arriving at least 30 minutes early, by 11:30am. Expect lines to get into the park, as this will be a ticketed event.

Where should I sit? Will there be seating?

Please bring a lawn/camping chair or blanket to sit on. There is no fixed seating. This is a general admission event meaning there are no reserved seats.

Where will this event take place?

This event will take place at historic McKenzie Park in downtown Panama City at the corner of Oak Street and Park Avenue. The show will take place under the gazebo inside the park.

Park Avenue between Oak Street and Belle Booth Place will be blocked off and no traffic will be allowed through. The perimeter of the park will be completely fenced in as this is a ticketed event.

Where should I park?

All public parking downtown is free. You can park anywhere on the street downtown in open parking spots. There are also a few public parking lots near the park that will be available.

How do I get into the park?

You will need a ticket to get into the park to attend Bluegrass by the Bay.  Tickets can be purchased online here. You can either print the tickets or save the tickets to your phone and they will be scanned at the door either way. You will need to present a printed or digital ticket for entry.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Yes, but this is not recommended because space is limited. We encourage you to buy tickets in advance. Space is not guaranteed if you wait to purchase them at the door.

Will food and drinks be sold at the event?

Yes, there will be limited number of local food and beverage vendors for your convenience.

Are children allowed to attend?

Yes! Children 12 and under are free to attend. Anyone over the age of 13 year will be required to purchase a ticket. This event is for all ages.

 

What if it rains?

This event will take place rain or shine. Only if weather is so severe and conditions are dangerous will the event be delayed or cancelled. We encourage you to bring a raincoat or umbrella in the event there is a brief afternoon shower.
